Details and FAQs
I have provided more details regarding the logistics of my services in the drop down menu. I am of course happy to answer any further questions if they are not answered here during a consultation.

I am experienced with working with adults (18+) of all ages with a variety of psycho-emotional challenges. I enjoy working with adults who are looking for a therapy experience that includes an element of self-exploration. I work with a variety of psychological struggles that include relationship insecurity, anxiety, depression, personality-related difficulties, self esteem, grief, addictions, binge eating disorders, and non-complex trauma.

My fee is currently $150 per session hour which is the mid-range rate in Massachusetts. I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA (PPO, HMO, Indemnity) insurance and can provide ‘super bills’ for out of network insurances for potential reimbursement. I also I occasionally offer a sliding scale for clients with financial constraints. All payments are made through a secure and easy to use portal.

A first therapy session usually consists of my asking more focused questions to clarify your goals for therapy and the nature of your psycho-emotional concerns. The first session is generally in the style of being a warm greeting from me and both of us getting acquainted with one another, in order to further explore if we are a good client-therapist fit/match.

Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. What you share in therapy—and the fact that you are in therapy—will be kept confidential and protected through a secure, HIPAA-compliant online platform.
That said, as with all licensed psychological services, there are a few standard exceptions to confidentiality that are outlined in detail on my intake and informed consent forms, and which I discuss with clients during their first session with me.

Therapy can range from a single session to many years. There is no set time limit, and clients are generally welcome to remain in therapy with me for as long as they find the work beneficial and worth the financial investment. In general, the more in-depth the concerns being addressed, the longer they tend to take to work through. If I believe a client is approaching the natural conclusion of their work and has achieved what they initially came to therapy for, I will discuss with them whether it may be appropriate to consider ending therapy.

I do not currently offer in person sessions and hold therapy online/virtually via secure platforms. There will be possibilities of my having in person availability in the Greater Boston Area in the future.

In contemporary practice, the terms therapy, counseling, and psychotherapy are often used interchangeably and do not have strict, universally agreed-upon definitions. Therapy is commonly used as a broad term for working with a licensed mental health professional to address emotional, psychological, or relational concerns.
When distinctions are made, psychotherapy may describe more in-depth or longer-term work exploring patterns and underlying issues, while counseling often refers to shorter-term or more focused support. These distinctions are not rigid. Licensed Mental Health Counselors are trained to provide both, and the type of work is guided by each client’s needs rather than by terminology.
